The Beatitudes: A Manifesto of the Kingdom

Matthew 5:1-12

The Sermon on the Mount begins not with a set of demands, but with a proclamation of blessing. In the Beatitudes, Christ names the people the world overlooks and declares them nearest to the Kingdom.

The Order of Grace

Poverty of spirit is not theatrical weakness. It is the condition of honest need before God. Mourning is not disqualification. It is the grief through which divine comfort becomes visible.

The Beatitudes are not a ladder the world climbs. They are the path the King chooses for a world becoming again.

The meek inherit the earth because their strength is disciplined by love. In pastoral work, this text is not merely doctrinal material. It is a pattern for the soul of ministry itself.
